In a world-class display, Franceso Molinari held off Rory McIlroy to capture the European Tour's flagship BMW Championship title and a $1.1 million prize. Molinari played his last two rounds bogey-free, and was flawless on Sunday with a final round 68 using his new Bettinardi DASS BBZero Tour Deparment putter, which he switched to just a few weeks earlier.

Bettinardi’s Double Aged Stainless Steel (DASS) BBZero Tour model, with FIT Face Milling and a sight dot on the top, proved the perfect companion for the 35-year-old over the final stages of the demanding Wentworth Club course, as he finished two shots ahead of three-time Major winner Rory McIlroy.
"I think if I could pick one tournament to win in my career, it would be this one," Molinari said. "To finally get over the line, it was amazing. It's an amazing week. It's one of the best tournaments of the year." - Francesco Molinari
Bettinardi's Success on the European Tour in 2018
Francesco Molinari is our second Tour Staff player to win on the European Tour this season, following Haotong Li’s victory with a Studio Stock 3 Tour putter in the Omega Dubai Desert Classic in January. A production putter, the Studio Stock 8 was played in the win at the Qatar Masters earlier in the year. This is our first Tour win with our DASS BBZero putter. After just one European Tour win in 2017, Bob and Sam Bettinardi are extremely happy and proud of winning 3 European Tour events to date in 2018.
" From signing Francesco just over 5 months ago, we are thrilled with this impressive win. It's outstanding, and a little more special given our Italian heritage to have him on board. The BBZero is a phenomenal putter and I am excited it finally has a big win to go along with all our other successful winning models." - Robert J. Bettinardi
Looking Ahead for Molinari
With the win at the BMW PGA Championship , Francesco Molinari moved up 12 spots to number 20 in the WGR and to third in the Race to Dubai. Molinari also increases his chances for hopes of joining the European Ryder Cup team with the win.
